Job description

You will be supporting SQA's national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection of electromechanical components. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements.
 
 
This is a part-time opportunity requiring support one day per week. The schedule offers flexibility Monday through Friday, with no weekend work required. Compensation ranges from $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience. Apply today for immediate and serious consideration!
 
 
This is a 1-year contract. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections (both in-process and final) of parts, per project specifications and requirements.
  • Perform incoming inspections from external providers of products and services (e.g., nickel plating).
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of critical features, including witness inspections (e.g., CMM program run).
  • Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packages.
  • Verify that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects and ensure inspection methodology aligns with drawing intent.
  • Review and validate the justification for parts not inspected at final inspection.
  • Audit and validate the execution of inspection plans as applicable.
  • Document non-conformances using approved methods and submit non-conformance reports for customer disposition.
  • Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris.
  • Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure torque stripe is continuous and of correct color.
  • Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour and waviness.
  • Ensure products are of good workmanship and meet specified standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts, scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance).
  • Review and validate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, including completeness, traceability, and compliance.
  • Ensure the protection and preservation of inspected products for subsequent processing and shipment.
  • Verify applicable shipping documentation for legibility and completeness, including part number, serial number, configuration change letter, and shipping destination.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 4+ years of experience 
  • Must have experience with documents such as FAI, PO, COC and Process certification
  • Extensive experience as a Quality Inspector or CMM Operator, with industry and commodity-specific expertise.
  • Proficiency in dimensional inspection of precision tolerance parts.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with all inspection tools.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex GD&T requirements and validate complex assemblies.
  • Experience with multiple primary and secondary part numbers (e.g., brackets, clips, doublers, splices, brackets, drip shields, etc.).
  • Must be ITAR compliant 
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5.
  • 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector.
$30 - $35 an hour
