Job description

Start a life-long career with a fast-paced, family-oriented company! Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company is seeking a dependable Part-Time Delivery Driver who takes pride in providing safe, efficient delivery and pickup of building materials while representing the Mill Creek commitment to service.

Job Location: 623 East 16th Street Wellington, KS 67152

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform truck inspection and promptly identify all repairs necessary.
  • Inspect load on truck and reload as appropriate and necessary. Chain and strap load securely.
  • Deliver loads to customer sites as assigned in a safe and efficient manner. This includes physically unloading material & confirming accuracy in accordance with delivery ticket.
  • Pick up return materials as assigned.
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and immediately report any citations or violations.
  • Present oneself to all customers and the general public in a courteous manner.
  • Assist in building loads, loading trucks, counting inventory, housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver license
  • A safe driving and work record as determined by Company.
  • Language skills sufficient to accurately read road signs, invoices, addresses, etc., and to communicate with customers.
  • Physical ability to lift 100 lbs.
  • Corrected vision sufficient to drive, read, and inspect products.
  • Hearing sufficient to drive and hear conversation and radio.
  • The mobility and dexterity necessary to walk regularly, drive a truck, and manually carry materials.
  • The ability to maintain favorable relations with co-workers and customers.
  • Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required.

Handling of product greater than approximately 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
