Job description

Vetta Sports is seeking confident, decisive, and customer-service-oriented individuals to join our team as Soccer Referees. As a Vetta Referee, you will be responsible for officiating and controlling soccer games, ensuring fair play, and managing player behavior. You will be crucial in upholding the integrity of our programs by ensuring all participants understand and adhere to the rules, making unbiased calls with confidence, and effectively resolving conflicts on the field.
Responsibilities:
  • Game Officiation: Officiate soccer games across various Vetta Sports programs, ensuring adherence to the specific rules and regulations of each league or program.
  • Rule Enforcement: Possess a thorough understanding of soccer rules and effectively communicate and enforce them to all players and coaches.
  • Player and Game Control: Maintain control over the game and player behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful playing environment for all participants.
  • Game Management: Accurately keep track of calls made, manage game timing, and record scores.
  • Unbiased Decision-Making: Make fair, consistent, and unbiased calls with confidence, demonstrating impartiality in all situations.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skillfully resolve on-field conflicts between players, coaches, and spectators in a calm and professional manner.
  • Customer Service: Utilize above-average customer service skills to interact positively with players, coaches, parents, and Vetta Sports staff, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Pre-Game and Post-Game Duties: Conduct pre-game checks (e.g., field, equipment, player eligibility) and complete necessary post-game reporting.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Proven ability to work effectively and make quick decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Verbal Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly explain rules, give instructions, and manage game situations.
  • Confidence with Decision-Making: Demonstrated confidence and assertiveness in making and standing by decisions under pressure.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities to command respect and maintain authority on the field.
  • Prior experience as a soccer referee or player is highly preferred.
