GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students.

The purpose of this position is to maintain desirable environment with pleasant surroundings so as to enhance the learning process.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums hallways, stairs, and office space.

Clean and mop bathrooms as needed.

Be able to use vacuum cleaner in carpeted areas.

Clean chalkboards and erasers as instructed.

Clean windows, blinds and drapes at regularly scheduled time.

Assemble and dispose of all trash on a daily basis.

Clean and dust all furniture at a scheduled time.

Be available to come to work at odd times if needed.

Responsible for wearing uniform daily, as provided by Hinds Community College.

Perform other duties that may be assigned by the appropriate authority.
