Classification Title:

Adjunct - Industrial & Commercial Construction Instructor (Pool)

Department:

I/C Construction Technology

Physical Demands: 

Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.

Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.

Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Division Chair of Mechanical and Construction Technologies
  • Teaches Construction classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods
  • *CCPI

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires either a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or related Building Construction Technology or Construction Management field from a regionally accredited college or university or an Associate’s degree in Industrial and Commercial Construction and a minimum of three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field;
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution;
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.
