A Part Time HTML & CSS job involves designing and developing web pages using HTML for structure and CSS for styling. These roles are typically flexible, allowing individuals to work fewer hours compared to full-time positions. Responsibilities may include updating websites, creating responsive designs, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. Part-time HTML & CSS jobs are ideal for freelancers, students, or professionals looking for additional work.
In a Part Time HTML & CSS role, your daily tasks often include coding and updating web pages, ensuring designs are responsive across devices, and collaborating with designers or other developers to implement website changes. You might also review and troubleshoot code to resolve layout issues or inconsistencies. Depending on the team structure, you may provide input on improving user experience or assist with basic content updates. These responsibilities help ensure websites run smoothly and look professional, even when working flexible or limited hours.
To thrive as a Part Time HTML & CSS professional, you need strong foundational skills in writing clean, semantic HTML and CSS for building and styling user interfaces. Familiarity with basic web development tools like code editors (e.g., VS Code), version control systems (such as Git), and understanding of responsive design principles is often expected. Attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate remotely are valuable soft skills in this role. These abilities are important for creating visually appealing, accessible, and well-structured websites that meet client or team requirements.

Who are we. Gopinion is a small Boston based start up with the goal of bridging the communication gap between businesses and their customers. Through the Gopinion mobile app, users fill out micro-surveys (max 20 seconds), and select an instant reward from either the business they reviewed or any other business in our system.
The data from these micro-surveys is collected on the individual business owner's web dashboard where they can engage with the users through our app. What stage are we. We are currently in Alpha testing.
We have an app in the app store, and are currently testing a proof-of-concept in 15 locations around the Copley and Harvard Square areas. We have businesses such as Flour Bakery, Burger King, Dependable Cleaners, and the Duck Tours among others. We are in the final stages of a beta version of our product which is set to release in late September, with the Harvard University Dining Services (15 locations in Harvard Square) ready to start with us when we release our new app.
What do we need. We need smart, driven developers who want to intern with us over the course of the year. We are flexible in terms of part time positions and compensation, but most importantly we are looking for people who believe in our product and want to take part in a brand new start-up in the very early stages.
What skills do we require. Administrative info: We use GitHub for our source control, and Jira for project management. Web and API development: Our web app is built in PHP with the codeigniter MVC framework, and has a MySQL database.
Skills: PHP with the Codeigniter framework RESTful API experience MySQL experience Some HTML/CSS experience, design experience is not required as we are using a template Mobile App Development: Our mobile app is built in Appcelerator with the Alloy MVC format. Appcelerator is a platform that allows you to build a mobile app entirely in javascript and have it compile to Objective-C and Java for iOS and Android. Skills: Javascript Backbone.js and Underscore.js experience Mobile experience preferred, but not required Mac (unfortunately necessary for the iOS simulator) Contact Information: If you are interested in interning for a brand new startup just entering its beta phase, please contact us and let us know about yourself and we would be happy to explain more about our company and our needs
