Job description

About the Company

We are a growing commercial cleaning company specializing in deep-cleaning services for the hospitality industry. Unlike daily janitorial or housekeeping work, our services involve specialized equipment and techniques for deep cleaning carpets, tile and grout, upholstery, and other high-use surfaces.

Our Raleigh-area branch is expanding throughout North Carolina, and we are seeking a creative, dependable, and self-motivated Marketing Associate to help develop new business and strengthen our marketing efforts.

About the Position

This is a flexible part-time or freelance opportunity for someone who can develop and execute practical marketing strategies for a growing small business. The ideal candidate will have experience or relevant education in marketing and be comfortable working independently. The company will be relying on your effort and expertise. Depending on your strengths and the company’s priorities, your work may include digital marketing, graphic design, website updates, email campaigns, networking, and direct business development. The position can be mostly performed remotely with regular check-ins, occasional local travel to client sites.

Potential Responsibilities

  • Help develop and carry out marketing strategies for commercial cleaning and specialty restoration services.
  • Create or assist with monthly email marketing campaigns.
  • Design flyers, postcards, presentations, advertisements, and other marketing materials.
  • Update and improve website content, including pages built with WordPress.
  • Manage or organize prospects and customer information using HubSpot or a similar CRM.
  • Research hotels, venues, property managers, and other potential commercial clients.
  • Make warm and cold calls to prospective customers.
  • Visit potential client locations and help identify service opportunities.
  • Attend industry meetings, networking events, and local business functions.
  • Assist with direct-mail campaigns and other forms of local outreach.
  • Track marketing activities, leads, follow-ups, and results.
  • Recommend practical ways to improve brand visibility and generate qualified leads.

Qualifications

  • Experience, education, or relevant coursework in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to follow through without supervision.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and testing new ideas.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor when visiting businesses or attending networking events.
  • Ability to represent the company positively with hotel managers, property managers, business owners, and other decision-makers.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel locally and occasionally elsewhere in North Carolina as needed.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with any of the following is a plus:

  • The hospitality industry.
  • HubSpot or another customer relationship management system.
  • Graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar software.
  • WordPress or other website platforms.
  • Email marketing platforms.
  • Search engine optimization and local business marketing.
  • Business-to-business sales or lead generation.
  • Networking, cold calling, or direct-mail campaigns.
