Job description

The Prairie Ridge Care Center (PRCC) Host/Hostess is mainly responsible for setting the welcoming, home-like atmosphere in the cottage to which they are assigned. They set tables, greet residents coming to the dining room, serve the meals, clear tables, run the dish machine in the cottage, attend to assigned cleaning tasks, do scheduled activities with residents, serve snack times for residents, staff, and visitors, and in general watches over and spends time with residents making the cottage home. The applicant must be cheerful and have excellent interpersonal skills. They must have a genuine heart and patience for older people, be willing to fill in as needed and be a team player. They must be well organized and able to follow directions but also work independently.

Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma desired. He/she must take a modified diet and sanitation course provided through the dietary department and a feeding class provided by our nursing department.
Job Schedule:
Part-Time: 2:15pm - 10pm. 3 shifts one week/2 shifts the next week, includes every other weekend.
Casual: 4:00pm - 8:30pm. 3 shifts one week/2 shifts the next week, includes every other weekend from 2:15pm - 8:30pm and every other holiday. Fill in for co-workers as appropriate.
