Job description

We are offering the Part-Time Homemaker a $250 sign-on bonus for new employees.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Homemaker is a non-exempt position responsible for the maintenance and management of assigned clients homes, including but not limited to, performing homemaker functions and assistance with assigned housekeeping tasks. The primary goal of this position is to help the elderly and disabled in the Pinellas County area to remain living independently in their chosen home environment and avoid premature nursing home placement.

  • Assist in household management tasks such as grocery shopping, cooking, reading mail, paying bills, and errands
  • Complete light home maintenance tasks such as house cleaning, laundry, trash removal, vacuuming and dusting
  • Assist Clients with transportation to doctor's appointments where necessary
  • Provide written reports of client contact and services rendered
  • Provide companionship to elderly clients when required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, highly desired, but not required.
  • Experience working with the elderly or disabled and household maintenance and management, highly desired
  • Ability to work in diverse areas and with multicultural populations
  • Ability to use manual dexterity when working with clients
  • Ability to lift and/or carry groceries, laundry, trash, etc. up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to reach, bend, crouch, stand and climb stairs while performing household tasks in client homes
  • Must adhere to and utilize safety measures when using household chemicals and other household materials
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instruction
  • Must have the ability effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and staff
  • Ability to work in the field at any given time, season or climate in an indoor and outdoor environment
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Must pass the agency Level I and Level II employment screenings to include drug screening and motor vehicle checks.
  • Must have a valid drivers' license with auto insurance coverage
