Part Time Lunch and Recess Monitors
2 hours per day/10 hours per week
Each day school is in session from 11:00am to 1:00pm
Salary $20 to $22 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:







  • Good physical health and ability to perform assigned duties
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with children and adults
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

 
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To supervise the lunchroom and recess activities under the direction of the building principal and assigned teaching staff
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervises students during their lunch period in the cafeteria and during recess.
  • Maintains a system for orderly food purchase by students, food waste disposal, and trays and utensils return.
  • Ensures that students are seated in assigned areas.
  • Circulates among the tables during mealtime so as to be available to students who need help or to resolve any minor problems that arise.
  • Informs principal of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas, assisting in cleaning the tables and floors at the end of lunch service.
  • Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
  • Communicates with students in a calm manner, maintaining established school rules.
  • Ensures safe playground activities and interactions among students, circulating among the students during recess.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 
Minimum Requirements:
NJ Teacher or Substitute Certificate
or
A passing score of 456 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment
