Maimonides School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School in Brookline, MA is seeking experienced candidates for full-time and part-time teaching positions for Hebrew language for the 2026-2027 school year. We offer an unparalleled dual curriculum in Judaic and general studies. What you will do
In this position you will teach a combination of classes Middle and Upper School grades. Classes will focus on critical skills related to the four strands of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition you will:
- Plan, build, execute, and measure the success of student-centered classroom lessons within the context of our school's Judaic Studies and Ivrit curricula
- Provide an environment that encourages participation and recognizes the needs of individual students and the entire group and offer support and flexibility as needed
- Integrate Hebrew and Israel into other areas of the school through interdepartmental collaboration
- Work as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the mission of Maimonides
- Cultivate positive relationships with current and prospective students and parents
Qualifications
We are looking for teachers who have native-like fluency in Hebrew and who are comfortable teaching Ivrit B'Ivrit at a variety of grade levels. In addition we are looking for people who have
- A Bachelor's degree
- 2-4 years teaching experience, including experience teaching Hebrew as a second language (preferably at Middle/Upper School levels)
- Interest in professional growth and commitment to continuous learning
- Native Hebrew speaker is a plus
Salary & Benefits
Flexible schedules and teaching opportunities are available. We will work with the right candidate to find a mutually agreeable teaching schedule.
- Annual salary is $45,000- $50,000, commensurate with experience and teaching schedule
