The Lead Health Unit Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical operations under the direction of the Clinical Manager. This leadership position is responsible for developing and enhancing the HUC role, leading training initiatives, and driving efficiency and quality improvements within the unit. The Lead HUC also performs regular HUC duties to maintain hands-on competency and proficiency.
What's Available:
  • Part-time, 30 hours a week or 0.75 FTE
  • 12-hour shifts, Day/Night rotating working 6:30am-6:30pm and 6:30pm-6:30am.
  • Weekend and Holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the training and development of current and new Health Unit Coordinator staff on new programs and processes.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of efficiency and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Co-design strategic solutions aimed at achieving proficient and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Perform regular Health Unit Coordinator duties to maintain skill competency.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to troubleshoot application barriers and support role development.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to identify and remove workflow and application barriers.
  • Support a positive and productive work environment focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or in a similar clinical support role.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and training skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to analyze workflows and contribute to process improvements.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
