To thrive as a Part Time Hazmat Tanker Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements, along with a strong track record of safe driving and knowledge of hazardous materials regulations. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, and safety compliance systems is typically required. Attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are critical soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure the safe and efficient transport of hazardous materials, protecting public safety and meeting strict regulatory requirements.

Is it worth being a tanker driver?

A part-time hazmat tanker driver can earn competitive pay due to the specialized nature of transporting hazardous materials, and the job often requires certifications such as HAZMAT and CDL licenses. What is a Part Time Hazmat Tanker Driver?

A Part Time Hazmat Tanker Driver is a professional truck driver who transports hazardous materials (hazmat) in tanker trucks on a part-time basis. These drivers must have special endorsements on their commercial driver's license (CDL), specifically for hazardous materials and tanker vehicles. Their responsibilities include safely loading, transporting, and unloading hazardous liquids or gases while complying with strict federal and state safety regulations. Part-time positions offer flexible hours, making them suitable for individuals seeking supplemental income or those unable to commit to full-time work.
