Position Information
Job Title Part-Time Fitness Center Attendant - Jackson County Campus Job Description
The Part-Time Fitness Center Attendant will be comfortable communicating with students, staff, and faculty in a professional manner. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of all components of student services and fitness center policies and exhibit superior customer service. This position requires someone with an outgoing and positive attitude, multitasking ability, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Job Duties
1. Maintain a positive, professional environment.
2. Have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
3. Be familiar with and abide by MGCCC policies and procedures.
4. Be flexible in working morning and evening shifts.
5. Maintain the Fitness Center area by keeping things clean and organized including but not limited to, the Fitness Center, Gym, Fitness Room, Front Desk, as well as the hallways, bathrooms, and lobby areas.
6. Properly check equipment in and out from the Fitness Center Front Desk.
7. Answer phone calls and take messages.
8. Assist with Intramural Sports program for the campus.
9. Make sure everyone scans in and out of the Fitness Center, either with their MGCCC I.D., or in logbook.
10. Make sure the Fitness Center and Gym rules and regulations are being followed and Call Campus Police if necessary.
11. Make sure weights are racked in the Weight Room and machine attachments are put in their appropriate location.
12. Notify the Coordinator of Wellness and Recreation of any and all maintenance issues/problems that occur.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Wellness and Recreation.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) High School Diploma or Equivalent.
(M2) Work experience in a professional setting.
(M3) Customer service experience.
(M4) Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
(D2) General knowledge of exercise equipment and facilities.
(D3) Ability to lift or move equipment/materials in the Fitness Center.
(D4) Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion.
(D5) Understand the importance of structure, organization, and resource management.
