Job Summary: In this role, the Overnight Residential Counselor will be responsible for the safety and supervision of the clients at one of our 6-bed residential treatment centers. Overnight counselors are required to stay awake all night to ensure the safety of all clients. Small chores to keep the treatment center clean, and inventory checks are also part of the position. The ideal candidate is dedicated patient, and a reliable team player. This position offers training, competitive pay, and room for growth.
As an OVN you will be a critical health worker, and so could be exposed to COVID, or on occasion work with clients with COVID. Evolve follows all state and local requirements regarding PPE and has strict guidelines for a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am)
  • Ensure clients are in bed all night and be able to provide line of sight of clients at all times
  • check on the clients every 15 minutes
  • Walk through the facility and do a maintenance check
  • Assist with inventory check and notify the facility manager of anything that need attention
  • Document all shift activity in KIPU
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility
  • Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be able to stay awake all night; previous overnight shift experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have at least 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
  • Have 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
  • All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift
  • Must be able to pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal and state criminal background checks, and child abuse indexes.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous work or volunteer experience with teens or working in a group home (teens or adults)

Pay Range:
  • $21.00 - $27.00 Hourly (future earning potential)
