Job description

At Mother's Market, we're dedicated to providing a well-stocked, organized, and welcoming shopping experience for every customer. As a Grocery/Refrigeration Clerk, you'll ensure our grocery and refrigerated sections are fresh, full, and easy to navigate. From stocking and rotation to customer service and product quality, your work helps support our mission of healthy, accessible living.

Hourly Pay: $16.90 - $20.00

What You'll Do

Provide friendly, helpful customer service including special order support
Stock and rotate grocery and refrigerated products with accuracy and care
Ensure products are fresh, labeled correctly, and shelves are clean and organized
Place "Temporarily Unavailable" tags when items are out of stock
Handle product damages, credits, and returns according to company policy
Check product pricing and ensure shelf labels match correctly
Maintain and refill product displays, samples, and seasonal features
Receive deliveries and verify shipment accuracy against invoices/packing lists
Place and track product orders from other stores, suppliers, or distributors
Keep aisles safe and free of hazards by removing ladders, boxes, and obstructions
Continuously monitor expiration dates and rotate inventory accordingly
Assist customers with product locations and general inquiries
Maintain safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards in assigned areas
Perform other duties as assigned by the Grocery or Store Manager

What You Bring

Experience & Skills:
Previous customer service experience preferred
Experience in grocery or retail stocking a plus
Comfortable working in cold environments (coolers, freezers)
Basic math and inventory handling knowledge

Customer Focus & Abilities:
Approachable, dependable, and detail-oriented
Able to communicate clearly in English both written and verbal
Team player with a proactive, self-motivated attitude
Capable of learning product information and assisting customers confidently

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry products (up to 75 lbs.) frequently throughout shift
Stand, bend, squat, and climb ladders during an 8-hour shift
Push/pull carts, and stock using dollies or box cutters
Work in cold environments for extended periods (jackets/gloves provided)
Reach overhead and stock shelves at various heights
Work both indoors and outdoors, including in wet or cold weather

Schedule Requirements

Must have flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
