Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
Communication: The Research Assistant will clearly and effectively communicate with (1) Dr. Simon Dang (Principal Investigator, PI) and (2) participants for recruiting, coordinating survey sessions, and supporting data collection activities.

Critical Thinking: The Research Assistant will apply analytical reasoning when reviewing literature, processing survey data, and assisting with dataset preparation for statistical analysis.
Professionalism: The Research Assistant will understand and respect the confidentiality of research participants as the research does not collect personal identifiable information. Practicing confidentiality is a key part of professionalism. The Research Assistant will also demonstrate punctuality and respect for both the PI and research participants.

Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the Research Assistant is to work directly with Dr. Simon (Huy) Dang regarding his research project on consumer privacy protection behaviors in AI-driven environments. The study investigates how perceived AI data vulnerability influences privacy concerns, behavioral responses (reactive and proactive), and consumer online well-being.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting the PI in a variety of non-administrative research tasks, which may include but are not limited to: (1) conducting literature reviews on privacy, AI, and consumer behavior; (2) supporting survey instrument development and pilot testing; (3) coordinating and executing data collection on-site and through online platforms (e.g., Prolific, Qualtrics); (4) performing data entry, cleaning, and preparation for statistical analysis; and (5) assisting with the preparation of materials for academic publication and conference presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research and collect data through online surveys, literature searches, and other project-specific methodology.
Assist in recruiting and screening research participants for data collection phases.
Schedule, organize, and report on the status of research activities.
Enter, clean, and prepare datasets for statistical analysis (e.g., PLS-SEM, PROCESS macro).
Assist in reviewing and summarizing academic literature related to AI privacy, consumer behavior, and online well-being.
Support the writing and editing of materials for academic publication and conference presentations.
Meet with the faculty supervisor on a regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the progress of the research project.

Term of Appointment
A full 2026-2027 academic year (i.e., Fall 2026 and Spring 2027).
10 hours/week at $12.66/hour. Tuition remission is $4,500 per semester.
Required Qualifications
Available only to Gannon graduate students who can commit for the full 2025-2026 academic year (i.e., Fall 2026 & Spring 2027).
Graduate students in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Communications, or related field.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and basic data management tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior coursework or experience in research methods, consumer behavior, or statistical analysis is preferred.
Familiarity with survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Google Forms) or statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Python, R, JASP, SmartPLS, Stata) is a plus.
Self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented candidate wanted.
