Greenskeeper, Part Time
We're hiring a Greenskeeper for Oneida Golf and Country Club.
At Troon, we believe our Associates are our greatest strength and competitive advantage. Whether you have a specialized trade or possess a knack for nurturing and preserving landscape, there's an exciting opportunity for you to apply your skills at Oneida Golf & Country Club.
Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. As a Grounds Keeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Beginner Greenskeepers are welcome - while knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred, previous experience is not required for the position.
Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during golf and holiday season, as needed.
Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience, landscape, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
  • Rake bunkers, mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • 40 Hours / week plus some weekend mornings through the golfing season

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e., the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)

Working Conditions
  • Frequently uses hands
  • Regularly stands, walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls
  • Frequently lifts, moves, and carries up to 50 pounds; to push or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, compact spaces, hot attic temperatures, and outside weather conditions
  • Noise level is moderate
