Job description

RATE OF PAY:             $19.00 per hour                                       MINIMUM AGE:      18 years

PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT:    Mystic Creek Golf Course and Banquet Center, Milford, MI

HOURS/PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:  Part-time, year-round position.  Peak golf season is March-November.  Applicant must be able to work daytimes/evenings, weekends, holidays, and schedule will vary. Time off during the peak golf season is extremely limited and must be approved by Golf Course Manager. 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The employee in this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of janitorial and routine maintenance tasks at Mystic Creek Golf Course facility and grounds.  This employee would be responsible for the cleaning of the clubhouse, banquet room, restaurant area, bathrooms (clubhouse and golf course), offices, entryways and patios.  Additional hours assisting food and beverage department.   Although general direction is received from the managers, the duties and responsibilities require considerable independent judgment and initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mop and sweeps floors.
  • Cleaning and stocking restroom facilities (Clubhouse and Course restrooms)
  • Dusts surfaces, detail walls and windows, dispose of trash.
  • Performs other custodial and cleaning tasks as necessary to maintain a clean, sanitary facility.
  • Reports all obvious safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates predictable and regular attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Some knowledge of janitorial equipment and supplies, and of their efficient and effective use in cleaning a large facility.
  • Ability to perform physical labor required for cleaning duties and ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, and occasionally use a ladder (12 feet tall or less).
  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with other employees
  • Ability to react to change productively.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

    • Some janitorial or custodial experience

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
