Job description

Job Summary: 

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and properly storing all cooking and serving utensils.  This is an at-will position.  Other duties and responsibilities include:

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.
  • Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.
  • Comply with the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing.
  • Wash all dishes, silverware, utensils, glassware, etc. in the dishwashing machine or by hand. 
  • Polish all silverware, platters and chaffing dishes as necessary.
  • Collect trash from kitchen areas; empty garbage barrels; wash and reline.
  • Wash and clean receiving area and trash areas.
  • Sweep and mop dish area.
  • Clean dishwashing machine after each meal period.
  • Be courteous and helpful at all times.
  • Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.  The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be 16 years of age.  Must have or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment – Illinois Safe Food Handler Certificate.  Must be dependable and able to follow direction.

Schedule & Pay:

This is an hourly, part-time position.  Hours will vary. Hiring range is between $15.00 - $16.00/hour.
