Salary: $17.13 Hourly Location : City of Spokane, WA Job Type: Temp- Seasonal Job Number: 2026-00052 Department: Golf Fund TEMP SEASONAL Opening Date: 02/04/2026 Closing Date: 8/31/2026 11:59 PM Pacific CLASS SUMMARY BE A PART OF SPOKANE'S GOLF EXCELLENCE! The City of Spokane golf courses are looking for Temp-Seasonal Golf Maintenance Workers to be a part of a great team, contributing to an amazing golf experience! Performs semi-skilled maintenance and operation activities related to City of Spokane golf courses. Duties are routine. Tasks include assigned laborer work outdoors including mowing, edging, sweeping, raking cutting cups, brushing greens and raking bunkers, and course watering. Physical demands vary from medium to heavy work and may require significant exertion dependent on tasks assigned to perform. Duties are performed under all weather conditions and terrain but require no particular mental or visual strain in their application. Employee works under general supervision utilizing standard procedures. Work is repetitive in nature, and once learned, is expected to be performed with less supervision. Follows established procedures and refers unusual cases to the supervisor. (season is typically March through October) EXAMPLES OF JOB FUNCTIONS The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mowing, edging, sweeping, raking cutting cups, and raking bunkers, and course watering.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other staff members and the general public.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate levels of physical labor, potentially under unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment around the public, co-workers and adjacent homeowners, where applicable.
  • Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in grounds work or general laborer experience.
  • Must be 18 years old to apply.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass a physical and 50 lb. lift test.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and early mornings.
