This is a part-time position and is not eligible for insurance, paid leave or retirement benefits. Pay rate-$85-$90/hr based on experience and qualifications.
Work up to 29 hours per week.
Diagnoses, treats, prevents and controls disorders of the teeth and mouth including gums and related oral structures. May treat diseases of nerve, pulp and other dental tissues affecting vitality of teeth
Job Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of oral health services in Glynn County.
2. Assure that dental services are adequate, appropriate, and accessible; Develop long and short-term goals for the health agency and participate in the agency's strategic and operational planning.
3. Maintain awareness of advances in dental medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, Government regulations, health insurance charges, billing process and financing options.
4. Manage and direct administrative activities for health care employee.
5. Participate in the development and administration of program budgets.
6. Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.
7. Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums and related oral structures, and provide preventive and corrective services.
8. Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of dental diseases and infections
2. Ability to manage and treat significantly medically compromised patients
3. Knowledge and understanding of the various types of commonly prescribed medications and their impact on oral health and dental treatments
4. Ability to operate dental machinery and equipment
5. Knowledge of radiology techniques
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or professional degree in dentistry from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience at the lower level Dentist 1 (HCP130) or position equivalent and current Georgia license to practice dentistry.
