Job description

About the team / Product at Justworks

The Justworks Product team advances our mission by building products that extend levels of personal care and deep expertise that our customers have never experienced before. They craft innovative solutions that guide users through the most complicated challenges of running (and working for) a small business, with ease. They deeply understand complex regulatory spaces like FinTech, Healthcare, and HRTech, and have a keen intuition for how to connect threads across our customers' needs and our business' risk management and commercialization strategy. Our Product Managers lead highly collaborative creative endeavors, bringing together stakeholders across engineering, design, data services, operations, and customer-facing teams to deliver tangible value.

By joining us, you'll be part of an experienced team of Product Managers who have a proven track record of building large-scale software products that impact small businesses worldwide.

We're looking for teammates who will help shape Justworks' future and make a profound impact on our business. As a Product Manager, you'll be working across complex spaces (Fintech, Healthcare, HR Tech - all with serious policy/regulatory environments). Care is at the center of everything we do, and you'll need to love talking with customers and engaging with our Customer Success, Sales and Marketing teams to make sure that care is coming through in every part of our customers' experience.  You'll be joining a diverse community of craftspeople who are passionate about learning, uphold exceptionally high standards of quality, and foster an environment of strategic thinking where product people can reach new heights.

About the role

The Global Time team's mission is to help small businesses manage their global teams seamlessly and compliantly by providing an intuitive time experience for managers and their teams around the world. You'll also partner closely with our Time Worked and Time Off pods to strengthen the foundation of our Time solutions in ways that benefit every Justworks customer.

As a Product Manager for Global Time, you'll work with GPMs across the Time and International Payroll space to drive one of the most consequential areas of our global product: enabling hourly and part-time employment for our Employer of Record (EOR) offering across international markets. You'll lead key initiatives - from adapting legal frameworks and building guided, compliant overtime management, to localizing the time tracking experience for a global workforce, to adding the flexibility customers need to manage variable shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ownership for the products you build and an understanding of shipping services that can perform and scale with Justworks.
  • Lead discovery into complex, country-specific requirements - pay rates and standard hours, timesheets, overtime calculations, statutory-holiday tracking, and payroll timing - and translate them into coherent, scalable product requirements.
  • Shape the strategy and roadmap for key Time Global initiatives and articulate a compelling vision of impact on our international business to stakeholders across the product and engineering organizations.
  • Identify where international needs expose needs in core infrastructure, and partner with adjacent pods to improve the foundation for all customers.
  • Use customer feedback, data, and competitive research to sequence the roadmap and make clear, well-reasoned prioritization calls.
  • Define success metrics and measure outcomes, iterating toward increased revenue and reduced sales and operational friction.
  • Set a high bar for quality, compliance, and risk management in a domain where errors carry regulatory and financial consequences.
  • Partner deeply with engineering to investigate and prioritize issues/bugs and develop technical knowledge with their guidance.
  • Build strong relationships across teams by demonstrating curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to customer-centered partnership.
  • Contribute to team problem-solving and actively support or facilitate team processes and ceremonies.
  • Take on opportunities beyond core responsibilities to support product strategy and drive impact.
What you'll need
  • Minimum of 2 years of product management experience in a modern technology business; prior experience working in a highly regulated domain (e.g. fintech or workforce management) required
  • Commitment to problem-solving and demonstrated ability to break down complex problems for team execution against business needs
  • Willingness to deeply understand the fundamentals of our business model and prioritize your own education and development
  • Deep user empathy and a high bar for user experience
  • Excellent persuasion and advocacy skills, using clear frameworks, story-telling and first-principles reasoning
  • Strong technical acumen is a plus

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $131,000.00 - $161,000.00 per year.
