Job description

This job is responsible for the initiation of Infection Control measures throughout the system according to accepted standards and regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining records and prepares reports related to infection control data; infection surveillance activities to identify, investigate, document and assist in resolution of nosocomial infection issues; maintains IC policies and procedures congruent with state and regulatory agencies and assures compliance with same; plans, develops, and directs staff education related to infection control policies and standards; identifies actual/potential patient and employee exposures and responds in accordance with CDC recommendations, regulatory requirements, and company policy. This job maintains professional relationship with physicians, employees, and leaders as they assist in identification and reduction of infection control concerns. Effectively communicates infection control concerns to IC Committee Chairperson and Employee Health Physician as appropriate; and develops and circulates minutes of the Infection Control Committee Meetings as facilitator of this committee.

Education
Required - Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field

Work Experience
