Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Cook:

  • Assists in directing food preparation in accordance with established standards of quality, portion control, taste, and presentation.
  • Ensures compliance with Health & Safety regulations and monitors food leaving the kitchen to maintain required quality and presentation standards.
  • Supervises and prepares food for outlets and banquet functions in line with established quality and service standards.
  • Inspects refrigerators and storage areas to prevent spoilage and contamination and plans effective use of reusable food items.
  • Conducts inventories and ensures adequate supply levels while maintaining quality standards.
  • Coordinates with the Head of Department and other departments to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Reviews menus with staff and oversees food preparation, taste, temperature, and presentation.
  • Ensures proper sanitation, cleanliness, dishwashing operations, and adherence to budgeted food cost controls.
