Position Summary

Join our team as an Assistant Teacher and help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for school-age children before and after school and during other school closures. This role offers a great opportunity to build experience working with youth while developing general leadership skills.
Pay & Schedule
- Starting Pay: $15.00/hour
- Consistent weekday schedule
- School Year - Monday-Friday, 6:30-9:00 AM and/or 3-5:45 PM
- Summer - Hours will vary based on program needs
- Potential for additional hours during school breaks

What You'll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you'll play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for school-aged children. You'll partner with other teachers to make each day engaging, structured, and meaningful.
In this role, you will:
Help lead fun, age-appropriate activities and learning experiences that keep kids engaged and learning
Support children's social, emotional, and physical development
Supervise children to ensure a safe environment at all times
Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
Help keep the classroom organized, clean, and ready for learning
Use positive guidance to encourage good behavior and problem-solving
Support daily routines like snacks, hygiene, and transitions

Requirements
What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you should:
Be at least 16 years old
Have a high school diploma/GED (or be working toward one)
Have 1 year of childcare experience (preferred), not required - we're happy to train the right person!
Have reliable transportation and a strong commitment to being on time
Feel confident interacting with children and communicating with parents
Be willing to complete required training once hired (CPR/First Aid, Mandatory Reporter, etc.)
Be able to stay active throughout your shift, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
