Description
The Truck Driver safely operates trucks on the installation or within a city or distribution/industrial area
transporting material and equipment between various types of establishments such as: warehouses, piers, wholesale and retail establishments, or designated local delivery locations based on established schedules. Loads and unloads truck with or without helpers, performs daily maintenance and safety checks on the vehicle and ensures the vehicle is in good working order.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional
area / process.
2. Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs)/Job Breakdown sheets (JBS), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards.
3. Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas /
process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals.
4. Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
5. Responsive communication with the Inventory, Customer Service, and Quality Control teams regarding any
system discrepancies that cannot be resolved.
6. Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
7. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management, and Customers
regarding service and transportation support at the Distribution Center.
8. Maintain a safe and secure work environment to include vehicle safety and security measures.
9. Responsible for understanding site local delivery and transportation route plan.
10. Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance
Plan, Storage Plan and workload requirements.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma (of equivalent)
SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be U.S. Citizen
2. Possess a valid Driver's License and applicable CDL (Heavy and Medium Rating)
3. Security Clearance required for both Medium and Tractor-Trailer Drivers
4. Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
5. 2-3 years' experience over road driving is preferred.
MISCELLANEIOUS / OTHER:
Ability to stand, squat, and have full range of motion, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties, lift at least 40 pounds, operate a forklift in accordance with a training certification program, and see, hear and respond to dangerous situations.
