Major Responsibilities:
  • Accurately enters pertinent data into appropriate computer software.
  • Maintains accurate up-to-date databases and files; tracks data appropriately.
  • Conducts systematic audits on data for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness; follows through with any modifications and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generates and distributes various reports from various computer systems/databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Files reports and documents accordingly.
  • May provide other clerical support such as filing, photocopying, answering phones, routine word processing, opening mail, and other routine office support functions when requested.
  • Assists department in identifying and enhancing procedures by providing suggestions for improvement.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • None Required.

Education Required:
  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in a related position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Training or experience in keyboarding/data entry with an emphasis on speed and accuracy.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology (department specific).
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be self-directed with excellent organizational ability and the ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • Must operate all equipment necessary to perform the duties of the job.
  • Sits the majority of the workday.
  • Must be able to continuously use a keyboard.
  • Occasionally lifts items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
  • May be required to travel to various sites on occasion; therefore, maybe exposed to road and weather hazards (department specific).
  • Must be able to concentrate on minute detail with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be capable of typing, writing, and data entry for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able, to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time in order to complete required filing, photocopying, distribution of materials and other related functions.
