Hours: As scheduled by the Environmental Services Director
Reports To: Environmental Director
Travel: None
Starting Wage: Hourly $16.68-17.81
Job Summary: Housekeeping is responsible for the cleanliness of the physical plant and environment, including the fixtures, furniture, and equipment, in a clean, safe, attractive, and operative state always. Laundry duties include washing, drying and folding clothes and linens.
Work Environment: Works in well lighted well-ventilated work area. Subject to handling contaminated articles.
Essential Functions for Housekeeping:
• Follow cleaning schedules as outlined in daily housekeeping and housecleaning policies and procedures.
• Keep carts neat and clean.
• Report all repairs needed to maintenance.
• Stock cleaning carts with supplies at the end of shift.
• Check and report any loose tile walls in bathrooms and utility rooms.
• Attend monthly in-service training classes and staff meetings as called by the Home.
• Obey all safety policies and procedures of the Home.
• Use only supplies that are needed. Don't be wasteful.
• Take care of equipment entrusted to your care.
• Be courteous and polite always.
Essential Functions for Laundry:
Pick up soiled linens.
• Fill washers and dryers.
• Fold and hang laundry and linens.
• Deliver personal laundry to resident rooms.
• Other functions may be required or directed by manager.
• Attend monthly in-service training classes and staff meetings as called by the Home.
• Obey all safety policies and procedures of the Home.
• Use only supplies that are needed. Don't be wasteful.
• Take care of equipment entrusted to your care.
• Be courteous and polite always.
Skills and Abilities:
• Use your own common sense and good judgement.
• Keep watch for articles that need cleaning, odors, and safety issues.
• Must be able to report and unsafe working areas or hazards. Must report any accidents or incidents immediately.
• Have functional hearing ability, conversation level to understand residents.
Physical Demands:
• Stands, stoops, lifts, bends, pushes, pulls, and walks short distances during the workday.
• Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Other-
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions, document tasks completed.
B. Personal-
• Must be able to follow directions given by Manager.
• Must have good moral character.
• Good mental and physical condition, also to perform heavy lifting and tedious chores.
• Must cooperate and communicate with other employees, management, and residents
