What does a part time flu vaccination nurse do?

A Part Time Flu Vaccination Nurse is a registered nurse who administers flu vaccines to patients, usually during the flu season. They may work in clinics, pharmacies, workplaces, or community centers on a flexible or part-time basis. Their responsibilities include assessing patient eligibility, providing information about the vaccine, administering the shot, and monitoring for any immediate adverse reactions. This role helps protect individuals and communities from influenza outbreaks, especially among vulnerable populations.

To thrive as a Part Time Flu Vaccination Nurse, you need a valid nursing license (RN or LPN/LVN), strong injection technique, and current knowledge of immunization protocols. Familiarity with vaccine storage/handling procedures, electronic health records (EHRs), and basic documentation systems is commonly required. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to reassure and educate patients are crucial soft skills.
