Job description

Description:

Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-Time or Part-Time | Washington, PA Area

Most hospice RN jobs hand you a windshield, a pager, and a caseload that treats you like a route to run. Weekend rotations. An on-call phone that never really turns off. Documentation you finish at your kitchen table at 9pm.

We built this one differently.

Anova Health Care System is hiring a Hospice Registered Nurse - full-time or part-time, your call - serving patients across the Washington, PA area. Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with a real interdisciplinary team behind you. And we're a Fortune Certified Top 25 Best Place to Work, which is not a line we're allowed to print unless our own staff say it's true.

Full-time or part-time - built around your life

We're hiring this role either way, depending on the right person. Tell us the schedule you want and we'll work to match it. A few things we'd rather say plainly than bury:

  • Full-time RNs get the full salary and benefits below.
  • Part-time RNs are paid based on hours worked and aren't benefits-eligible - but you keep the same Monday-Friday base and the same team support.
  • On-call is part of this role, assigned and defined by your Clinical Manager. We won't pretend otherwise - but it's structured, not a phone that owns your nights by default.

What your day actually looks like

  • Real assessments, real care planning - you manage the clinical picture, not just check boxes between doors
  • You're backed by a Clinical Manager and a full interdisciplinary group; you're never the only set of eyes on a patient
  • You build care plans with patients and families, teach caregivers, coordinate with physicians, and see your patients through one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives
  • Mileage reimbursement for your travel - the road is part of the job, so we cover it

The work itself

  • Complete initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments - physical, emotional, and spiritual
  • Develop care plans built on nursing diagnosis and palliative goals, with the patient and family at the table
  • Communicate with physicians, report changes in condition, and obtain orders as needed
  • Teach patients and caregivers self-care, medication, and diet as ordered
  • Keep clinical documentation accurate, relevant, and on time
  • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary group and community partners for continuity of care
  • Stay in full compliance with HIPAA and all state and federal regulations
  • Participate in on-call duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager

What you'll need

  • Active Pennsylvania RN license
  • CPR certification
  • At least 3 years of experience as an RN
  • At least 1 year of hospice experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance

Benefits (Full-Time)

These apply to full-time employees. Part-time RNs are paid based on hours worked and aren't benefits-eligible.

  • Competitive salary: $67,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience - biweekly pay
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Referral program
  • Paid development and growth opportunities

At Anova, we're empowering nurses to transform the way they work. We know our people are our most important asset, so we invest heavily in the well-being of our staff. We respect that you have a life outside your job - we want you to maximize that time while still feeling connected to our community. We do that by making the moments you spend with us count.

About Anova

We're a family-owned, independently-owned provider caring for patients across Western Pennsylvania, offering hospice, home health, and palliative care. We're small enough that leadership knows our nurses by name, and established enough to offer the stability and benefits of a larger organization. Our nurses aren't interchangeable staff - they're the reason our patients get The Best Care Possible.

Anova is an equal opportunity employer, proud of its culture of diversity and inclusion. Applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
