***Working 1-3 days a week- Monday to Friday- 8 hour shifts
This position will be assisting with Immunizations Casual/PRN status. This role will be primarily to support our annual flu season at our CENTRAL EAST Hospitals of Corewell Health

Scope of Work

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides numerous health services to employees. These services include assessment, triaging, counseling, evaluation, case management and documentation.

  • Provides pre-placement health assessments within ADA guidelines making determinations about immunization status and identifying whether or not work accommodations are needed. Follows up on completion of all pre-employment requirements for each new employee.
  • Administers and monitors employee, physician and volunteer immunization and screening programs including FIT testing, Influenza Vaccination Program and TB surveillance activity.
  • Provides counseling, referrals and health evaluations to employees in a timely manner, especially where occupational exposure or disease is a concern.
  • Collects and sends out non-DOB urine specimens for drug testing following Chain of Custody protocols.
  • Interprets lab reports and screening tests accurately. Consults with EHS Officer as needed to provide appropriate prophylaxis, counseling and follow up as needed for employees with injuries, illnesses or exposure to diseases.
  • Maintains and updates confidential comprehensive employee health records.
  • Maintains immunization, TB screening and exposure follow-up programs for community agencies, including billing.
  • Performs data entry into Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) for Sodexo employees and non-employed physician staff for completed TB testing and immunizations.
  • Provides initial triaging for occupational injuries and illnesses. Works in conjunction with the Worker's Compensation Specialist and treating physicians to facilitate appropriate treatment and return to work.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and procedures related to Employee Health, as well as implementation, promotion and evaluation of educational programs and materials.
  • Works under direction of EHS Manager to initiate, monitor and provide programs for employee safety and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
  • In the absence of the EHS Manager, supervises the day-to-day operation of EHS, including the Fit Testing Program.
  • Attends Infection Control, Environmental Safety Committee, Disaster Committee and Safety Device Task Force meetings as directed by EHS Manager.

Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree in nursing.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
  • 1 year of relevant experience Requires a minimum one year of clinical experience in employee/occupational health or case management in an acute care environment. Required
