Job description

Nurse - Flexible / Part-Time Opportunity in Pratt and Medicine Lodge, KS

Why This is Important:

In this role, you help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services by guiding staff, overseeing medication practices, and supporting compliance with state regulations. Rather than traditional bedside care, you play a critical advisory and training role—empowering others to provide safe, effective support.

Your expertise helps maintain high standards of care while promoting independence and quality of life for those we serve.

What You Will Get to Do:

This is a non-traditional nursing role focused on oversight, training, and support. You will:

  • Review and support medication practices to ensure compliance with Kansas Nurse Practice Act and KDADS regulations
  • Train and coach staff on medication and provide supports to improve overall health and wellness
  • Conduct occasional site visits to ensure proper documentation and safe practices
  • Review medication records, orders, and updates (MARs, consults, medication changes)
  • Provide guidance to staff when medical questions arise
  • Contribute to policy improvements and quality assurance efforts

✅ No routine bedside care
✅ No hospital shifts or overnight rotations
✅ Collaborative, consultative work environment

What You Need:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Ability to train, coach, and communicate clearly with non-medical staff
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between service locations
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

What Makes This Role Different:

  • Part-time and flexible scheduling options available
  • Autonomy and variety—work across multiple settings in office and home environments
  • Focus on education, prevention, and oversight instead of hands-on clinical care
  • Opportunity to make a broad impact across an entire program or division

What You’ll Earn:

  • $26.00 - $36.00 per hour (Non-Exempt position).
  • Paid vacation and sick leave.
  • Arrowhead West, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
