Description
The surgical technologist is a member of the surgical team who works closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, registered nurse in delivery of patient care pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. The job duties and requirements include mentoring, training and national certification is a requirement. Acts in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards as prescribed by the Governing Board, Hospital Administration and Patient Care Services of Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Position Requirements
Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Formal course in OR Technology.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology required.
  • Completion of hospital preceptorship program required.

Experience:
  • 2 + years experience as a Surgical Technologist in a surgical setting preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from national agency required.
  • BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
