Job description

AC-130J Academic/Simulator Contract Instructor (CI) Pilot Part-Time
Will provide formal aircrew academic and simulator flight training to officer and enlisted initial qualification, mission qualification, requalification, instructor/AC/WSO upgrade, and key staff students to conduct close air support, air interdiction, and armed reconnaissance.
Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Provide instruction in AC-130J emergency procedures training, systems operation, instrument flight, and tactical operations.
  • Provide academic and simulator refresher training to qualified AC-130J aircrew members.
  • Assist in the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process in designing, developing of and ensuring all AC-130J courseware is correctly applied.
  • The selected candidate will become a Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) certified instructor.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college.
  • Must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Must be current as a Pilot in the AC-130J within the previous two years; or within the previous 8 years if the candidate has performed 8 years of military operational flying duty at the time of hire with at least two years or 200 hours experience as an in-flight instructor in the AC130J H/U/W/J.
  • Waivers are possible for candidates not meeting the above requirements but have prior AC-130 experience and/or have experience as an AC-130J Contract Instructor.
  • The Selected candidate must be able to obtain a minimum of an active SECRET clearance and will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information and Communications Security (COMSEC) material.
