Role: 
As a Group Fitness Instructor for Deep & Shallow Water, you are responsible for leading a safe, effective and enjoyable group fitness class for all ages.  We require development, delivery, performance, and maintaining a positive and energetic attitude towards our drop in experiences.  You will create and connect with our customers, community and employees in ways that are impactful in driving and advancing our cause and play an instrumental role in bringing Vivo experiences to life. You'll engage with passion and be accountable to the team to deliver strong results and impact.   

Reports to: Fitness & Training Manager  
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Facilitate in person classes, pre-recorded and virtual classes both inside our studios and in the outdoor environment.
  • Confidently and compassionately engage with a variety of populations to determine their needs and what they value in fitness lifestyle experiences.
  • Explore, experiment, implement and measure new ways of building new Fitness Lifestyle and challenges to incorporate spontaneous and curriculum-based experiences in your classes.  
  • Facilitate and foster active, social, inclusive and engaging learning environments ensuring each class covers key elements to the Vivo experience of connections, learning, and growth.
  • Check-in class participants to ensure we are able to confirm attendance, numbers and contact trace if required.
  • Maintain equipment by ensuring guests are educated on Healthy Habits and how to properly maintain and clean their equipment before and after use.
  • Provide updates on equipment wear and needs to the Fitness & Training Manager.
  • Build strong relationships with all members in order to provide the best experience and growth opportunities  
  • Teach safe effective exercises to a variety of populations to encourage a healthy lifestyle.  
  • Be an ambassador by promoting our vision and mission for healthy and passionate fitness baselines.   
  • Support our guests with any questions they may have about the class or the facility.
  • Provide support if there is a first aid situation within the class, following the proper emergency response plan.
  • Complete all required staff training and attend required meetings to collaborate as a team to enhance our mission and vision. 
  • Maintain own professional certifications, upgrading to keep inform of current fitness practices.
  • Ensure you are only promoting the Vivo brand when teaching and interacting with our guests.
Qualifications: 
  • AFLCA group exercise, Canfitpro FIS or equivalent.
  • Water Art, CALA, AFPA, or equivalent.
  • Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C/AED certifications; First Aid recertified every 2 years and CPR every year.
  • Must have a valid and clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within the last 2 months
  • 1 to 2 years' experience leading group fitness classes in a busy facility.
  • Maintain a positive and energetic attitude to provide the best Guest Experience.
