Job description

We deliver services by deploying associates who are located throughout the United States and in 90+ countries around the world to your supplier sites. Our associates are expert quality assurance professionals with broad experience and local knowledge who can represent our clients on-demand and on-site faster than our competitors.
What to expect:
You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA's operations center based on client needs and each supplier's production schedule. Before deployment, you will undergo training, including a remote classroom session, Gage R&R training and testing, and three shadow inspections with an existing inspector on the team. The final day of training is a shadow inspection with the client.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform source inspections from external providers of products or services (e.g., nickel plating)
  • Conduct in-process and/or final inspections of critical features, including witness inspections
  • Compile and complete final inspection sign-off sheets or inspection packages
  • Verify that inspection tools and equipment are capable of identifying nonconformance
  • Ensure inspection methodologies align with the intent of technical drawings
  • Review and validate any justification for omitted inspections
  • Audit supplier adherence to inspection plans, if applicable
  • Inspect for hardware cleanliness and the absence of foreign object debris (FOD)
  • Verify correct application of safety wire, fastener installation, and compliance with spec requirements
  • Confirm proper documentation and identification on shipping records
  • Ensure product is adequately preserved for further processing and shipment
  • Review and assess First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation for completeness and compliance

Required Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience inspecting PCBAs and/or cable and harness assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, technical drawings, schematics, and datasheets
  • Familiarity with general quality inspection tools and techniques
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
  • Must be ITAR Compliant

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or training in IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly processes, FAI standards, and inspection documentation
  • Previous experience conducting inspections at supplier sites or in a source inspection capacity

$29 - $31 an hour
Portal to portal rate for any travel time
