Job Summaryย 

The Courtesy Patrol Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the propertyโ€™s common areas, monitoring entry and exit points, and responding to emergencies as outlined in the buildingโ€™s Emergency Plan. This role supports a positive resident experience by maintaining order, addressing safety concerns, and upholding Evergreenโ€™s policies and procedures with professionalism and discretion.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Security & Monitoringย 

  • Monitor building entry and exit points; verify guest IDs and manage sign-in/sign-out logs in accordance with Courtesy Patrol procedures.ย 

  • Perform routine building tours and document rounds and observations in the security log.ย 

  • Ensure all exterior and interior doors are secure and report any security breaches or building issues to appropriate personnel.ย 

  • Respond to emergencies, including contacting fire, medical, or law enforcement as necessary.ย 

  • Notify Property Manager or on-call personnel regarding resident emergencies or maintenance concerns.ย 

  • Enforce house rules, building policies, and emergency protocols.ย 

Reporting & Communicationย ย 

  • Document all incidents, resident interactions, and emergency responses in the security log and submit to management as required.ย 

  • Report tenant concerns and non-routine activity to the Property Manager.ย 

  • Escalate issues beyond the scope of the Courtesy Patrol Officer to management.ย 

Resident & Guest Interactionย ย 

  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with residents and guests at all times.ย 

  • De-escalate tense or challenging situations while upholding community policies.ย 

  • Provide assistance to residents when appropriate and within policy guidelines.ย 

Administrative Supportย ย 

  • Assist with light clerical tasks and documentation as assigned.ย 

  • Maintain familiarity with the Courtesy Patrol Handbook and adhere to all related policies.ย 

Qualificationsย 

Education & Experienceย 

  • High school diploma or GED required.ย 

  • 1โ€“3 years of related experience in security, building monitoring, or customer service preferred.ย

  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.ย
