Building a routine for travel and paperwork can also help maintain work-life balance and ensure timely completion of assignments.

They are commonly employed by insurance companies, real estate agencies, or government agencies to assess property conditions or damages.

Job description

About Throne

Throne is a fast growing Series B startup transforming public infrastructure by delivering clean, safe, smart restrooms to cities, transit agencies, and public spaces. With flagship customers like LA Metro, Caltrain, Berkeley, Ann Arbor, Beverly Hills and Washington DC, we're rapidly scaling and preparing for multi-city expansion in 2026 - 2027.

We recognize an unspoken problem: that better bathroom accommodations are sorely needed in most cities. Public and retail bathrooms are neither positioned to meet demand, nor incentivized to provide the quality experience people deserve.

Our mission is to provide peace of mind to the millions of people who set out on an adventure on any given day. That adventure may be big or small. It may involve taking your toddler to the park, driving a stranger to the airport, running a half marathon, or exploring a new city for the first time.

About the Job

Throne is looking for a full time Field Service Technician to join our team, reporting to the Washington DC Operations Manager. You will be responsible for performing a variety of repairs that address electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or construction related issues. As a field technician in Washington DC, you will provide on-the-job support to other technicians, prioritize daily tasks, and assist with training & onboarding of new technicians. This role requires a strong background in plumbing, electrical work, construction basics, and remodeling, along with specific abilities such as reading electrical schematics and testing electrical components.

The base hourly rate for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's applicable experience and skills. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including equity.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain the working condition of Throne Units:

  • Troubleshoot, identify and repair Thrones on-site as issues arise
  • Prioritize and assign tasks to yourself and other field service technicians
  • Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to guide installations, repairs and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, replacements, and inspections.

Organize and Maintain the Warehouse, Vehicles and Tools:

  • Update and maintain accuracy of our inventory system
  • Keep fleet vehicles clean and organized
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse environment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical work, construction basics, or remodeling.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of testing procedures for electrical components, including voltage, continuity, and current tests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends or outside of regular business hours as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Can-do attitude and passion for Throne's mission
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience operating a forklift, ideally in outdoor environments
  • Certification or license in plumbing, electrical work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with smart technologies or IoT (Internet of Things) devices.
  • Prior experience in the portable sanitation industry.
Benefits:
  • Medical Insurance, including plan options with 100% employer-paid premiums
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Meaningful Series B Equity
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and National Discounts
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Life, Dependent Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • Employer-Paid Basic Life Insurance
  • Worker's Compensation Coverage
  • Legal Insurance
