We are seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to aid the Disney Store Cast in supporting a safe and secure environment for Cast Members and Guests! This is accomplished through proactive deterrence, identification, and resolution associated with suspicious activity and potential unsafe behaviors.


What You Will Do...

  • Acts as a visible deterrent to potential risk at store entrances/exits and throughout site maintaining high visibility, monitoring for, responding to and escalating incidents of suspicious activity, unsafe behaviors and other potential workplace security concerns
  • Conducts onsite security/safety inspections in person (and via CCTV where applicable), responding to and escalating identified risks to Store Leadership and Corporate Asset Protection (Loss Prevention)/Safety
  • Supports emergency preparedness and crisis response programs to help mitigate potential impacts, support Cast and Guest needs and promote a risk adverse culture
  • Supports Store Leadership with deterrence and response to aggressive theft activity/organized retail crime, escalated Guest interactions and assists store Cast with response to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) activations when needed
  • Conducts 24/7 camera and alarm monitoring (where applicable), related incident notification, investigation, trend analysis and case management documentation
  • Conducts Cast Member and vendor site access security screening related to bag/package/coat inspections
  • Acts as law enforcement liaison and security/safety point of contact for regional industry and TWDC partners at the direction of Corporate Asset Protection/Safety
  • Demonstrates and acts in accordance with Disney values, behaviors and guidelines
  • Utilizes specialized training related to Retail Counter-Terrorism and TWDC Workplace Security Programs to identify, deter and report associated activity such as but not limited to aggressive/escalated behavior, civil unrest protests, imminent threat, terrorism, etc.

  • +3 year of Asset Protection /Loss Prevention/Security experience within a retail environment or the Hospitality field
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and tasks
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in working in a team environment
  • Job may require lifting boxes that weigh up to 40 pounds and climbing a ladder
  • Must be able to provide full availability to work any schedule on Friday, Saturday and Sunday along with a few shifts during the week OR full availability

  • +5 years Asset Protection /Loss Prevention/Security experience within a retail environment
  • Has a thorough understanding of Loss Prevention and Security procedures, regulations and practices
  • Has an understanding of basic Safety practices and procedures and working knowledge and experience utilizing retail CCTV systems
  • New York State Security license

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $37,440 to $50,160 per year based on a 24 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
