Part-Time Fridays 4 Hours per Week
Villa is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Music & Movement Teacher to join our team! This part-time position is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and believes in the power of music, movement, creativity, and self-expression.
The Music & Movement Teacher will lead engaging, age-appropriate music and movement experiences for children in a positive and nurturing environment. Curriculum is provided, allowing the teacher to focus on creating meaningful and engaging experiences while bringing their own creativity and personality to the lessons.
What You'll Do
  • Lead fun, engaging music and movement lessons for children using the provided curriculum.
  • Introduce children to music concepts such as rhythm, beat, tempo, melody, and musical expression.
  • Incorporate singing, movement, dance, games, instruments, and other hands-on activities.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, cooperation, and self-expression.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where children feel comfortable participating.
  • Use positive classroom management strategies and maintain appropriate expectations.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration.
  • Prepare and maintain instructional materials and musical instruments.
  • Participate in school performances or special events when appropriate.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures related to safety, supervision, confidentiality, and child protection.

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching music and movement to young children in a classroom setting.
- Experience with Montessori educational methods and philosophy is preferred.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing engaging music and movement curriculum.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of child development and the ability to tailor lessons to meet the needs of individual children.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to play musical instruments and demonstrate musical concepts.
- Creative and innovative approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards children.
