Part-Time Elementary Level Teacher/Tutor

We are currently seeking part-time tutor for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning - St. Petersburg. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching and is passionate about helping students build their skills in these areas.

GradePower administration communicates with parents. Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. This leaves limited daily planning responsibility for the tutors. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

For this position, tutors at GradePower Learning work during morning hours Mon - Thu (9:45am - 12:45pm). Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available.

This is not an online position and completing a background check is mandatory.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • University students with tutoring experience will be considered
  • Retired teachers will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to 5th grade (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to 3-5 students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach/tutor with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3-5 students at different levels simultaneously
  • Teaching in-person
  • Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
