Part Time Exercise Coach information

What is a part time exercise coach?

Part time exercise coaches are fitness professionals who work on a part-time basis to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals. They typically lead exercise sessions, design workout routines, provide motivation, and offer guidance on proper form and technique. These coaches may work in gyms, fitness centers, or even virtually, and their schedules are often flexible to accommodate both the clients' and their own availability. Part time exercise coaches play a crucial role in helping individuals improve their physical health, build strength, and maintain an active lifestyle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time exercise coach?

To thrive as a Part Time Exercise Coach, you generally need a background in exercise science, fitness training, or related fields, often supported by a personal training certification. Familiarity with fitness assessment tools, workout tracking apps, and gym equipment is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, motivational ability, and adaptability help coaches connect with clients and tailor sessions to individual needs. These abilities are crucial for delivering safe, effective workouts and building strong client relationships that support lasting fitness results.

What are some common challenges faced by part time exercise coaches, and how can they be managed?

Part-time exercise coaches often face the challenge of scheduling clients around limited availability, which can make building a consistent client base more difficult. Additionally, balancing multiple jobs or commitments may require strong time management skills. Coaches can manage these challenges by maintaining clear communication with clients about available hours, using scheduling tools, and collaborating with other coaches for coverage when needed. Staying flexible and proactive can help ensure steady work and client satisfaction.

Schedule: Afternoons/Evenings (Mon/Tues/Thurs), No weekends!

Help Kids Build Brighter Futures — and Love What You Do

At Brain Balance of Nashville, we don’t just work with kids — we change lives.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Exercise and Learning Coach to join our mission-driven team. This part-time role is perfect for someone with a background (or a big passion) for education, special education, behavioral therapy, or child development who wants to make a real, visible impact.

Here’s your chance to bring your energy, patience, and expertise into a warm, supportive environment — and help children and teens unlock their full potential.

Why You’ll Love This Job

See the life-changing progress your students make in focus, confidence, and communication.
Work 1:1 with kids in a non-clinical, drug-free program based on brain science.
Be part of a fun, compassionate, tight-knit team who loves what they do.
Enjoy afternoons/evenings only — no early mornings, no weekends!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Guiding kids through fun, structured activities that improve focus, behavior, and learning skills.
  • Motivating students with positivity and encouragement while keeping sessions on track.
  • Collaborating with your team to tailor each student’s plan for maximum progress.
  • Keeping a calm, growth-minded atmosphere where every child feels supported.

Who You Are

  • You have experience (or strong interest) in education, special education, ABA, behavioral intervention, or child development.
  • You’re currently pursuing or already have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Kinseiology, and/or Exercise Science.
  • You’re calm under pressure, organized, dependable, and — most importantly — great with kids.
  • You’re available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM. (All 3 days)

Schedule & Location

  • Part-time: about 12–15 hours/week
  • In-person only at our Nashville location
  • Never work a weekend — ever.

Pay & Perks

  • $17.00–$19.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Simple 401(k) matching
  • Employee discounts
