Job description

Position Overview: The Safety Team Supervisor will join a part-time event team within the Security Department. The Supervisor is responsible for leading the Safety Team during events and ensuring all functions of the team are completed. The Safety Team serves as an essential part of the Capital One Arena experience during events and games. These are exciting, event-based positions that will provide support to MSE Security, CSC, and Guest Experience as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Assign team positions and supervise deployed team members.
  • Attend MSE Security briefings and conduct briefings for Safety Team members.
  • Keep and monitor Safety Team uniform and equipment inventory.
  • Assign uniform pieces and equipment to team members each shift and ensure their return at the end of the event.
  • Supervise team member reliefs and lunch breaks.
  • Assist with scheduling, call-offs, and attendance tracking as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of MSE Security and Capital One Arena policies and procedures.
  • Complete administrative functions including preparing, collecting, and submitting reports as needed.
  • Prepare and issue written disciplinary documentation as needed.
  • Oversee the training of newly-hired team members.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members when expectations are not met.
  • Conduct foot patrol and building checks during events.
  • Conduct visual inspections and monitor assigned post area(s).
  • Investigate and report any unusual or unauthorized activity during events.
  • Conduct screening of employees, visitors, and guests as needed.
  • Provide a quality guest experience to all visitors, guests, and team members.
  • Be observant for spills and anything unusual during events.
  • Demonstrate creativity, persistence, "Arena Awareness", and knowledge related to the specific event to accurately and efficiently find standard processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to work in a variety of environmental conditions including loud noises, strobe lights, heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without a break.
  • Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with guests.
  • Strong history of being a great teammate and encouraging collaboration.
  • Previous supervisor experience is preferred, but not required.

Pay Rate: $26.00 USD/hour
