Position Summary
Citadel Security USA is seeking a courteous, dependable, and observant Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at a public library in Glenwood Springs. This position focuses on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere while helping protect library visitors, employees, and property through professional observation, routine monitoring, and proactive customer service.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills, remains calm when addressing concerns, and understands the importance of balancing security responsibilities with respectful public interaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Facility Monitoring
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the library during assigned shifts.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of public areas, entrances, exits, and surrounding grounds.
  • Monitor the building for safety concerns, suspicious behavior, or unauthorized activity.
  • Help ensure library rules and site procedures are followed appropriately.

Visitor's Assistance
  • Welcome patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide directions or general assistance when requested.
  • Support library staff by helping maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Address minor concerns professionally and notify management when additional assistance is required.

Safety & Incident Response
  • Observe developing situations and respond according to established procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, property damage, or security concerns promptly.
  • Contact supervisors or emergency responders when circumstances require.
  • Assist with orderly evacuations or emergency procedures when directed.

Documentation
  • Complete daily activity reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Document incidents, observations, and unusual events in a clear and timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding operational and client-related information.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
