Job description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary:

TheCSUHealth Network at Colorado State University provides a full range of cost-effective mental health and primary care medical services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and comprehensive health education and prevention services programming. Services such as physical therapy, dentistry, and optometry are available. For more information about theCSUHealth Network at Colorado State University, see https://health.colostate.edu/.


The Custodian position is critical in providing a clean and sanitary environment by performing housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, floor maintenance, minor repairs and painting, and waste collection services in all areas of the CSU Health Network.


This is a part-time, evening position, with a typical work schedule of 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Monday - Friday. These hours may vary slightly between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., depending on mutual individual and business needs.


We are hiring two positions, 20 and 25 hours per week.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean building floors by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, shampooing, and/or scrubbing.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling.
  • Clean office spaces; dust furniture, machines, or equipment.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or building/grounds maintenance issues.
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Collect soiled laundry and sort/prepare for delivery to off-site service; fold and put away clean laundry.
  • Minor repairs and painting.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre-employment Physical - Ability to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination.
  • Essential Services Designation - Ability to work during a business closure in order to meet operational requirements.
  • Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials - Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Special Requirements/Other - Health Network follows CDC guidelines for Employee Health in a healthcare setting, including proof of vaccinations. Employees must show proof of compliance/willingness to comply by start date.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Cleaning experience in a commercial environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing custodial services in a medical environment.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with custodial equipment including vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines, buffing and/or other related cleaning operations.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning products.
