The Financial and Claims Reporting Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining financial and claims reports that support business operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. This role partners with Finance, Claims, Operations, and IT teams to transform complex data into accurate, meaningful, and user-friendly reports. The ideal candidate has strong report-writing experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to automate reporting processes while ensuring data integrity.


Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad hoc financial and claims reports using reporting tools and databases.

•Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into effective reporting solutions.

•Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries to extract and validate data from multiple systems.

•Create dashboards and visual reports using Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar business intelligence tools.

•Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial and claims data across reporting platforms.

•Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance prior to report distribution.

•Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce reporting errors.

•Analyze reporting trends and identify anomalies or opportunities for operational improvement.

•Maintain report documentation, data definitions, and reporting procedures.

•Support regulatory, compliance, audit, and management reporting requirements.

•Collaborate with Finance, Claims, IT, and business users to enhance reporting capabilities and implement new reporting solutions.

•Provide technical support and training to end users on reporting tools and report interpretation.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, or a related field.

•5+ years of relevant experience developing financial and claims reports in Athena

•Experience in report development, business intelligence, or data analytics.

•Strong SQL skills for data extraction, reporting, and troubleshooting.

•Experience with report-writing tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or similar platforms.

•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, and complex formulas.

•Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures.

•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

•Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience working with insurance claims or financial data.

•Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

•Experience with reporting automation and scheduled report delivery.

•Familiarity with ERP or claims management systems.

•Experience supporting audit or regulatory reporting requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sitting, talking, hearing and near vision are required over 90% of the time. Feeling is required over 90% of the time and reaching is required about 50% of the time. The ability to travel to field sites may be required up to 15% of the time.

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Over 90% of the time is spent indoors, with protection from weather conditions. Exposure to noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable is present in only unusual situations.
