This is a part-time rotating day/night shift position. Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Practice
  • Facilitates, implements, and evaluates the Patient Plan of Care and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the health care team to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Acts as a patient advocate.
  • Ensures timely implementation of nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrates appropriate clinical skills and technical competence in providing patient care.
  • Uses sound clinical judgment and critical thinking to assess, analyze, and communicate patient information.
  • Accurately and promptly documents all patient assessments, interventions, patient responses, and provider communications.

Patient Safety
  • Assesses patient safety risk factors and identifies patients requiring specific safety interventions (e.g., skin integrity, fall risk, appropriate use of restraints).
  • Follows medication safety policies.
  • Initiates appropriate safety interventions promptly.
  • Completes Safety Tracking Tools as required.

Delegation & Supervision
  • Supervises assigned staff and delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Takes responsibility for all care provided to assigned patients.
  • Reports performance issues of team members to ensure safe, appropriate patient care.

Patient & Family Education
  • Assesses the educational needs of patients and families.
  • Provides appropriate verbal and written education.
  • Documents assessments and all education provided.
  • Provider Orders & Clinical Workflow
  • Conducts ongoing review, initiation, and implementation of provider orders every shift.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities based on urgency and patient needs.
  • Uses appropriate resources, problem-solves independently, multitasks efficiently, and demonstrates effective time-management skills.

Professional Accountability & Development
  • Seeks additional clinical experiences to enhance knowledge and competency.
  • Actively assists coworkers and accepts additional duties or assignments.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year as a nurse
  • ACLS preferred at hire or within 90 days of hire
  • EPIC preferred

Credentials
  • RN - Registered Nurse
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
  • NIH - Stroke Certification

Education
  • RN, Graduate of an accredited nursing school
