Position requires face-to-face instruction and on-site presence at the Slippery Rock University campus. Student consultation hours (2.5 hours) are expected. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching labs as assigned (potentially night labs (500 - 730 pm).

Minimum Qualifications
Masters, ABD or PhD in chemistry. Commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.

Special Instructions to Applicants
Slippery Rock University is seeking a part-time temporary faculty member capable of teaching general chemistry and/or organic chemistry laboratories for the 2026 Fall semester. The anticipated workload is 50% (two laboratories). The laboratories may be in the evening (500 - 730 pm).
Applicants are asked to electronically submit a current CV, a well-written teaching philosophy (no more than three (3) pages), and a cover letter. Please submit your teaching philosophy using the "Teaching Philosophy" tab. The cover letter should be no longer than two (2) pages and should specifically comment on your abilities and interest in teaching undergraduates in a laboratory setting.
Graduate and undergraduate transcripts will be required. Please upload the transcripts under the "Transcript" tab. Official transcripts will be due prior to appointment.
