How much does a part-time entry level HVAC technician make?

A part-time entry-level HVAC technician typically earns between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on location, experience, and employer. Starting salaries may be lower, but with basic certifications and skills, pay can increase as experience grows.

How to get in the part time entry level HVAC field with no experience?

To start as a part-time entry-level HVAC technician with no experience, focus on obtaining a basic understanding of HVAC systems through online courses or technical school. Gaining a relevant certification, such as EPA 608, and applying for apprenticeships or entry-level positions can provide hands-on training and industry exposure.

Why is it so hard to get into a part time entry level hvac?

Part time entry level HVAC positions are competitive because many applicants seek flexible work in a skilled trade that often requires basic technical knowledge, certifications, or on-the-job training. Employers may prefer candidates with some prior experience or relevant skills such as understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and safety protocols, which can limit available openings for beginners. Additionally, the industry often emphasizes reliability and physical ability, making it necessary for applicants to demonstrate these qualities even at entry level.
